Avatar 2 and 3 Made Official
James Cameron has signed on to write and direct Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 Variety reports. The plan is for him to begin working on the scripts early next year with Avatar 2 releasing in December 2014 and Avatar 3 December 2015. Avatar Extended CE Release Announced
Fox has released the details on the Avatar Extended Collector's Edition release which will be coming to Blu-ray and DVD on November 16th. Special features include an extended length cut of the film which has 16 extra minutes of footage, documentaries, behind the scenes featurettes, and over 45 minutes of deleted scenes. ‘Avatar’ Sequel Details
MTV had the chance to sit down with Avatar director James Cameron. Despite a re-release in theaters coming August 27, Cameron shared some details on the Avatar sequel. He mentions that the second film would take us to the 'oceans of Pandora'. Avatar Re-Release Hits Theaters August 27
The highest grossing film of all time is set to return to theaters exclusively in Digital 3D and IMAX 3D on August 27th. The highest grossing movie of all-time has now also captured the title of fasting selling Blu-ray in history. Avatar sold 1.5 million copies on its first day of release breaking the record previously held by The Dark Knight. Avatar Passes Titanic to Become Biggest Movie Ever
Many considered Titanic's record of $1.835 billion made worldwide to be unbreakable. Today Avatar surpassed that amount and did so in less than six weeks of release to become the highest grossing film of all time. With one of its stronger individual days at the box office Avatar cruised past the $300 million mark in just its 15th day of release.
