    With the exception of last year's edition 2K Sports has been involving big names from the music world to help craft and promote the soundtracks in the NBA 2K series. Those have included the likes of Jay-Z, Pharrell, and Imagine Dragons. Today the full soundtrack was revealed for NBA 2K19, which features a playlist purportedly put together at least in part by rapper Travis Scott.     EA Sports today revealed the full soundtrack for Madden NFL 19, which features 31 songs and the ability for there to be more added throughout the year. A Spotify playlist has been put together (listen here) but it includes only 17 of them at this time.  (more…)...

    EA Sports today revealed the full soundtrack for Madden NFL 18, which features 32 songs and the ability for them to add more throughout the year. A Spotify playlist has been put together but it includes only 14 of them at this time. The theme is described as being "an audio experience inspired by game day and the unique features of Madden."     While soundtracks in sports video games have taken on reduced importance in recent years, 2K Sports has continued to put considerable effort into using them to create additional buzz for upcoming NBA 2K games.     The importance of soundtracks in sports video games may be at an all-time low due to services like Spotify and the need to turn off music completely by those who record videos or stream but it's still noteworthy when they are revealed.     In late April on Twitter, EA Sports let it be known that Madden NFL 16 would have a real soundtrack rather than utilize NFL Films music again. EA had gone away from soundtracks with the last three editions in the series but now EA Trax will return. The songs featured in the game will not be revealed however until this summer.
