The Office To End After Ninth Season

NBC Plans Dwight Schrute Spin-Off
Though still doing admirably ratings wise The Office has seen a big drop in relevance and quality since the departure of Steve Carell. NBC currently plans to keep the series going into a ninth season in which they'll phase out Rainn Wilson's character of Dwight Schrute and transition him to a series of his own for mid-season 2013. James Spader Close to Becoming New Boss on The Office
The search for the replacement for Steve Carrel on The Office may be nearing its conclusion. Last year's finale introduced a number of prospective new bosses for the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin.
