Jacquizz Rodgers Declares for NFL Draft
In a somewhat surprising announcement today Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers has decided he will enter the NFL Draft. Rodgers finishes his career as the school's second leading rusher all-time with 3877 yards, 46 TDs, and 19 games where he went for over 100 yards. He is also a very good receiver having caught 151 passes. The only concern is his size and durability at the next level.
Rodgers could be compared to Dexter McCluster who was a running back coming out of college but tran...

Andrew Luck Returning to Stanford
Surprising news today as Andrew Luck has decided to pass over the NFL and return to Stanford for his junior season. Luck would have been the #1 pick so the decision is a head-scratcher especially with coach Jim Harbaugh likely on his way out.
This development will shake up the top of the draft and the Panthers have to be very disappointed that the potential franchise QB is no longer there for them. Players like DE Da'Quan Bowers, DT Nick Fairley, or WR A.J. Green now have a shot to be the f...
Da’Quan Bowers Declares For Draft
As expected junior Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers has declared for the NFL Draft. Bowers won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy as the best defensive player in college football racking up 67 tackles and leading the nation with 16 sacks. The breakout season followed up two years where he totaled only four sacks. Bowers is expected to go at the top of the draft, potentially even as the #1 pick if Andrew Luck were not to come out. He could be a good fit for Carolina in that case or Cincinnati at #4...
Panthers Plan to Pick Luck #1
After completing a rout of Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl last night, Stanford QB Andrew Luck now has the decision to make on whether he will return to school or enter the NFL Draft. Luck is seen as the sure-fire #1 pick and it appears the Carolina Panthers want him to know they feel the same way. Sources within the organization today leaked that if he does enter the draft that the team intends to take him with the top pick. While this comes as no surprise it is clearly meant to influence L...
2011 NFL Draft Section Launched
With the NFL season now complete I've launched the NFL Draft section of the site. Mock drafts, news relating to the draft, team needs, position rankings, combine reports, and other coverage will be housed there!  This is something I did last year that seemed to click and get good response and I'm even more comfortable expanding on that now. With the exception of the occasional mock drafts or articles tying in with Madden 12 those postings will not appear on the front page. So make sure to ch...
Blaine Gabbert Declares for Draft
Missouri junior QB Blaine Gabbert has announced intentions to enter the 2011 NFL Draft. Gabbert is currently projected as a first round pick and could possibly land in the top 10. He could be the second QB off the board if Andrew Luck forgoes his senior year of eligibility and enters the draft as well.
Gabbert threw for 3186 yards on 63% completions with 16 TDs to 9 INTs. In the Insight Bowl loss to Iowa he went for a season high 434 yards but had two INTs, one of which was returned for TD ...

Cliff Lee Headed Back to Philadelphia
In a surprise development free agent pitcher Cliff Lee has spurned both the Yankees and the Rangers and has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. Lee played part of 2009 with the team helping lead them to the World Series and then was traded away in the offseason to make room for Roy Halladay. One year later and he will be joining him there. Reportedly it is a five year deal for considerably less money than he would have gotten with other offers on the table.
Certainly this news will have ...
