The one week beta for EA Sports UFC 2 provided ample opportunity to get a feel for what's in store with the product that will be releasing on March 15. After a disappointing first effort there's reason for optimism with the sequel based on gameplay improvements, Practice and Skill Challenges meant to make the game easier to learn and improve at, and even the new Ultimate Team mode which has a different model that's been built for an individual sport. In this new episode of the Press Row Pod...

Ultimate Team mode in EA Sports UFC 2 is naturally quite different than those found in the publisher's team sports games. In UFC, you're working on building up your stable of created fighters, which means packs contain attribute boosts, perks, and moves rather than trying to obtain real-life fighters. In this video the Middleweight Starter Pack is opened, the different types of packs available to purchase are browsed through, and then two Premium Packs, one Middleweight Pack, and a Fight Nig...

With extensive footage of EA Sports UFC 2 having leaked out via live stream along with it was the roster of the welterweight division and their respective ratings. There are 38 fighters available in the division. As was the case with the first UFC game the ratings are inflated for the middle and bottom of the roster keeping them in range of the elite fighters. The closed beta for EA Sports UFC 2 won't kick off for most people until late next week but footage has already made it out thanks to a live stream held by UFC fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. The game was streamed for nearly three hours and though it isn't high quality, parts of the screen are obscured by various windows and text, and the audio is primarily of Jackson and his buddies, it's an extensive look at gameplay particularly at this still somewhat early stage. The game foota...

When the pre-order incentive for EA Sports UFC 2 was revealed to include three fighters, but only two were being named, it was obvious that the one being held back would not be a traditional fighter and have some sort of story behind them. Today the company announced that Mike Tyson will be included with pre-orders of the game. Two versions of Tyson will be found in UFC 2. There's the young "Iron" Mike Tyson and the late-in-career "Legacy" Mike Tyson. The standard edition of UFC 2 gets a...
