    Along with the news on the cover and the first trailer EA Sports this evening announced an online beta for NHL 17 that'll run for a full week beginning at the end of July on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Last year there was the EASHL beta for NHL 16 and this time around with NHL 17 the beta will be offering up more to do.     This evening Vladimir Tarasenko was announced as the cover athlete for NHL 17 during the NHL Awards broadcast. The St. Louis Blues forward won the cover competition by beating out Joe Pavelski in the finals of the eight man fan-voted tournament.     Back in April EA Sports revealed a few of the major features for NHL 17 such as franchise relocation, the World Cup of Hockey tournament, and uniform/arena creation. Now the publisher has unveiled the entire list of features for the upcoming game including the introduction of Draft Champions and various improvements to gameplay.  (more…)...

    EA Sports today announced a cover vote for NHL 17 but more importantly released a trailer that revealed a few big features for the upcoming game. NHL 17 will include franchise relocation in Be a GM mode and along with it appears to be the ability to create an arena, plus the eight team World Cup of Hockey tournament taking place in September will have its own mode.     The second EA Sports game released in 2015 has reached the Vault in EA Access. Madden NFL 16 was added last month and now NHL 16 joins it and all other games from the publisher to have come out earlier this generation. EA Access is currently exclusive to Xbox One with Sony declining to offer the service on PS4.     An update released today for NHL 16 has added in a number of new team jerseys. Most notably are those that were used in the Winter Classic game on January 1, and the Stadium Series games which are coming up later this month in Minneapolis and Denver.     While several other recently released games have been available at a discount the first significant deal for NHL 16 has been offered up today by Amazon. The game is available for $40 on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as well as "Legacy Edition" on 360 and PS3. The deal is only valid through the end of the day and could expire even earlier should supply be exhausted.
