Much of the discussion related to Rory McIlroy PGA Tour has related to its "value" and whether it would be worth spending $60 to get it day one, particularly with a competitor that is cheaper and offers arguably more content. The low number of licensed golfers and courses, and likelihood that paid DLC will be coming down the line, has led to some who are interested in the game contemplating waiting instead for a price drop. Those tend to happen within a month of release now anyway so the sac...

    Posted June 19th, 2015 at 9:45 am 2 Comments »
The first significant discount on MLB 15: The Show is available today at Amazon where the PS4 version of the game is just $40. For a period of time MLB 15 had been going for $52 but this is the first it's dropped below that point. At $40 it's undoubtedly a great deal for anyone that has interest in baseball and it's unlikely to go any cheaper during the season. For those on the fence about the game check out the review that was written for Sporting News, which is intended to help indivi...

    Posted May 15th, 2015 at 4:45 pm 5 Comments »
Super Mega Baseball arrived late 2014 and surprised as one of the best sports games of the year. As an independently developed game that features no licensing and offers an arcade-slant it faced all sorts of challenges that few publishers would even consider taking on these days and that's why unique sports games have gone largely extinct. Due to smart design decisions Super Mega Baseball delivered a satisfyingly fun yet grounded experience that overcame them. It's understandable that e...

Last week it became apparent that NBA Live 15 would soon be added the EA Access "Vault". EA has still yet to confirm when that will happen but a coinciding Xbox One deal on the game is more evidence that it could be making its way in later this week. Xbox Live Gold members can now purchase NBA Live 15 outright digitally for $9. For those without an EA Access subscription that's an unprecedented offering. The NBA season has only just reached All-Star break and considering the length o...
