    NPD has released the official sales numbers for September offering an opportunity to look at how Madden fared in its second month of release. The numbers for the NBA games won't be known until they are released next month at which point we'll be able to look at how they have did year over year as well as against each other.     Official NPD sales numbers for August have been released and as expected it was Madden that dominated the month. A few days ago EA Sports president Peter Moore talked about the 6% sales increase and now we have the detailed breakdown.     Official NPD sales numbers for July have been released and offer the first opportunity to compare year over year how NCAA Football 09 is faring. Sales on the 360 were nearly identical to last year. Despite gaining significant user base EA was unable to increase sales at all there. 397,000 this year just as it was with 08.     After a couple weeks of sales it seems like a good opportunity to look at how the two MLB games have fared and what it could mean for the future. With the EA purchase of Take Two still looming largely ahead that could certainly change perceptions going into next year. However we'll just look at it from the current standpoint of 2K vs SCEA.
