The patch for NCAA Basketball 09 that was originally planned to arrive in early December has made its way out early for both the 360 and PS3. It adds in authentic schedules, the display of named rosters online, and the ability to edit classic teams. It also attempts improvements in the areas of post play and full court press as well as "tightening up" of dynasty mode. Unfortunately nothing still has been done regarding the public sharing of named roster files through the EA Locker that f...
  • NCAA Basketball 09 Roster Sharing Problem

As discovered by ncaaStrategies it appears that the EA Locker 3.0 in NCAA Basketball 09 has a flaw that prevents the ability to share rosters openly from being utilized. Named rosters are still able to be traded but as of now that is only possible directly from the user's locker, which means you would have to be on their friends list to retrieve it. What is happening is that the game is identifying some names as being inappropriate, which rejects the file entirely. Unfortunately numerous ...

NCAA Strategies has received information on what the patch entails and when it is expected to be out. The targeted date for the patch to arrive is Thursday December 4th. Time for another podcast as I joined Chris Jacobs from NCAA Strategies to discuss NCAA Basketball 09 as it nears release. Topics were pretty wide-ranging and include general demo impressions, the perception of the game and apathy towards it, whether enough was done to pull in the abandoned College Hoops crowd, and how college games have a distinctive disadvantage compared to their professional counterparts. For all ways to listen to the podcast you can check out the posting on NCAA Strategies...

Included are screenshots and video highlights via EA Sports World which you'll have to view in the respective thread as they are not visible via the main areas of EASW as of yet. There are also basic impressions and dynasty details, lists of all the classic teams included, and the chance to ask questions about the game or ratings. Having resolved the audio problems while recording I wanted to post up a couple videos from the demo. Kentucky is a half-court team, Tennessee up-tempo, and the two classic teams are balanced. The teams playing to their tempo should be evident through the videos. Make sure to check out my impressions as well as read through the comments on the last couple articles for more thoughts on the NCAA Basketball 09 demo from the community. The first is Kentucky @ Tennessee followed by 79 Michigan...

The NCAA Basketball 09 demo came out earlier today marking the release of one of the more important demos we'll see given the circumstances. In a good move EA included four different teams, the ability to change cameras and difficulty levels, and made it a full eight minute half. Structurally it is one of the best sports game demos ever offered. How the game is being received though seems to be mixed, with some seeing improvement over Live 09 and others actually thinking it is a step back fr...
