UFC exploded onto the video game scene in 2009 with the birth of THQ's UFC Undisputed series. However ever since then with each subsequent release representing the fight promotion sales numbers have steadily dropped. Though specific numbers on EA Sports UFC 3's sales are not known the placement at #13 in January NPD is an alarming indication that popularity and interest has hit another all-time low. That brings into real question whether the series has a future ahead of it or if the two comp...

Opportunities continue to present themselves for those who still have interest in last year's slate of EA Sports games to get them at deep discounts. Madden NFL 18 and NBA Live 18 are already in the Vault for EA Access subscribers and those on Xbox One should consider that NHL 18 will likely be added to the Vault in March and FIFA 18 in April before deciding on a purchase. It may be a while before those games on PS4 see price drops that bring them close to that same value so these deals mean...
  • NBA Live 18 gets its deep discount now for PlayStation 4

Earlier in January a deal on NBA Live 18 brought the game down to its lowest price point ever of just $7.49 but only on Xbox One. That same deal has now reached the PS4 and will be available for the next week to PSPlus subscribers. Given the turbulence of the series over the last decade there was never a chance that NBA Live 18 would sell many copies no matter how good the game would turn out to be. Skepticism from consumers was more than justified and its competitor too popular and well ...
  • $20 GOAT Super Bowl Edition of Madden NFL 18 includes bonus Ultimate Team content

This marks the fourth consecutive year that EA Sports has released a Super Bowl Edition of Madden NFL on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It's a smart move on their part as a simple limited-time price drop is not nearly as marketable as a "special" edition that packs in bonus Ultimate Team content that costs them nothing. For PS Plus and XBL Gold members the Super Bowl Edition of Madden NFL 18 can be purchased for $19.80 with availability through the end of the month. That's an all-time low pr...

Given the turbulence of the series over the last decade there was never a chance that NBA Live 18 would sell many copies no matter how good the game would turn out to be. Skepticism from consumers was more than justified and its competitor too popular and well established. Instead the goal for EA Sports was always to regain some credibility and slowly bring more people on board through word-of-mouth and by playing with the price. A pre-order discount making the game $40 was the first stra...
  • NBA Live 18 drops to $10 on PlayStation 4

Last month NBA Live 18 was available for $15 on both PS4 and Xbox One which was a great price for a game featuring a really strong career mode, enjoyable gameplay, and absence of pressure/necessity to spend more money on an in-game currency. Now the price is even better on PS4 where the game can be had for just $10. This sale is expected to last until December 26 and is available to PlayStation Plus subscribers....

  • Sony matches some early Black Friday deals on PS4 games

Microsoft has come out out with some tempting deals on sports games in advance of Black Friday for games on Xbox One, and Sony has now followed in the hours since by offering a number of their own on PlayStation 4. These are deals worth considering particular for those who prefer to a digital library of games, but other retailers will have physical copies likely for slightly cheaper (and NBA 2K18 significantly cheaper) come the end of next week, and those have the additional bonus of those ...
