    Majesco has made news on two fronts today. The first is that the company has signed an agreement with the NBA to produce an original arcade-style franchise.   • NBA Extends Licensing Agreements with EA Sports and 2K Sports

    Today the NBA announced new multi-year licensing agreements with both Take Two and Electronic Arts to produce official video games for the league.     Though the confirmation that there will be no NBA sim title released this year was the big news out of EA Sports today they also announced a new version of NBA Jam to release in its place.     EA Sports has released a statement in regards to NBA Jam laying out that the game will be receiving no further post-release support. When NBA Jam released in November it did so with rosters that were already out of date at the time.     Just days after discovering Fight Night Champion is being worked on for a release on mobile platforms comes the first look at another EA Sports franchise set to make the move.     A good arcade style game can provide great entertainment value and act as a much needed change of pace. In the past few years games such as The BIGS, Blitz: The League, NBA Street, and Madden Arcade have found their way into the end of year lists. 2010 however was a down year for the arcade game, and almost by default NBA Jam claims the #10 spot in the countdown.
