  • Sales of EA Sports UFC Continue Alarming Downward Trend for the Sport

EA Sports UFC has struggled in terms of review scores and word of mouth and now that the sales numbers have released the impact of the poor start to the new franchise for the company can be further examined. First month sales for UFC combined for only 278K copies which explains the price drop that went wide last week. THQ's UFC series took a nosedive following the first release in 2009 - something partially attributed to the lack of roster turnover, competition from high profile games, an...
  • Deal Available for EA Sports UFC

It's only been out a month but EA Sports UFC can already be had for $40. Amazon has the game at that price already for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Gamestop also has it for $40 right now though it's unclear whether that is just online or also in-store. In some cases retailer deals are only available until a certain supply has run out, so those interested will want to take advantage of the offer quickly. [Update] Best Buy, Walmart, and others have followed as this isn't just a retailer-sp...

  • Hilarious EA Sports UFC Glitch Video

Despite all the issues with EA Sports UFC it is a fairly well polished product from a technical standpoint. However the game does have plenty of awkward situations where animations conflict and also some rare cases where really bizarre stuff can happen. There are a number of videos out there featuring visual oddities, but this one stands out for the variety of them and how the added commentary contributes to it being so funny. ...

Hope for the future of UFC games were high when EA Sports announced the acquisition of the license just over two years ago. There was to be significant development time and investment made prior to release of the first entry in the series, it would launch on the new systems and have an opportunity similar to how Fight Night Round 3 stood out early in the previous generation, and the company was coming off a good first effort in the sport with 2010's EA Sports MMA. It's especially disapp...

  • Guest Review: EA Sports UFC

by Dylan Favorite I have been eagerly anticipating the release of EA Sports UFC since it was officially announced two years ago. Unfortunately, after spending a good chunk of time with it, I can say that it is considerably flawed. I have enjoyed all of the past UFC games from Undisputed 2009 to EA MMA. I would consider myself well versed in both the games and the sport. This version just falls flat in some key areas. (more…)...
  • Unique Fighter Abilities in EA Sports UFC
    by

One aspect of EA Sports UFC that was never really discussed relates to the various special abilities held by the fighters which in theory would highlight their strengths and traits in fights while also adding a larger sense of personalization for created fighters. Unfortunately one of the biggest complaints with the game is that the individuals all tend to fight the same rather than in the different manners they actually do in real fights (strategically and relating to personal skills). ...
