  • Questions about NFL Tour or March Madness 08?
    Posted November 21st, 2007 at 3:19 pm 34 Comments
I am working on putting together some questions for a March Madness 08 producer interview coming up which I plan on sending in tomorrow. With so much having already been discussed about the game and having a demo already out I'd like to hear what remains unanswered within the community about the game or anything that may have arisen based on the demo. (Thanks to those who have made suggestions. The list for March Madness has been sent in) I should also have the opportunity to get some que...
  • March Madness 08 release date move and reaction to the demo
    Posted November 20th, 2007 at 4:00 pm 36 Comments
March Madness 08 will officially hit stores on Tuesday December 11th. Previously there had been some confusion over the date as it had originally been advertised as arriving a week later on 12/18 but recent mentions in producer blogs have stated 12/11. Now retailers have adjusted the release to the 11th and it appears to have settled there for good. As I reported earlier the game will also have a reduced price of $50. The demo that came out a few days ago has brought about a lot of critic...
  • Thoughts on the March Madness 08 demo and videos
    Posted November 19th, 2007 at 12:07 pm 32 Comments
After playing through the demo a few more times my impressions of it are below. I've also recorded the full demo played through two times and added those videos for everyone to watch. Ever since the info on March Madness 08 started coming out they've been pushing the idea of how they slowed the game speed down. That concerned me heading into the demo because it almost felt as if they were conditioning people for it so that it wouldn't be such a major shock in how different the game was go...

The Xbox 360 Live Marketplace now has the demo for March Madness 08 available for download. As of yet I have not been able to verify whether the PS3 has received it as well. The demo features Kentucky @ Louisville in a five minute half and comes in at 927.82 MB. You can choose from Broadcast, Classic, Overhead, Sideline, Sky Box, and Floor camera angles. The difficulty level is locked on Varsity. I will post up a few videos and some impressions of the demo over the coming days. Initial...
  • All about March Madness 08 Dynamic Post Moves
    Posted November 16th, 2007 at 2:53 am 8 Comments
One of the biggest improvements to the March Madness series this year is the Dynamic Post Play. A new producer blog with a gameplay video from IGN and a video breakdown of the feature by Billy Donovan recently came out to go over it in more detail. The producer blog can be found here. It basically just expands upon what is talked about by Billy Donovan in the video that demonstrates the feature. Everything about the Dynamic Post Play sounds great, especially having options on the defen...
  • College Hoops 2K8 conference call summary
    Posted November 14th, 2007 at 3:19 am 28 Comments
Yesterday I had the opportunity to sit in on a conference call relating to College Hoops 2K8 with representatives of various sites. The game's producer Zach Timmerman fielded questions and spoke to the new features and improvements to 2K8 as well as the general direction of the franchise. Those who have followed along with pre-release coverage would probably be familiar with a lot of the topics that were covered so I went ahead and took notes on what I found to be the most interesting thi...
  • March Madness 08 gets $10 price reduction
    Posted November 11th, 2007 at 5:06 pm 22 Comments
A little over a week ago I posted news on how NFL Tour had seen a lowering of its price from $60 to $50. After citing the comments of CEO John Riccitiello I pondered whether we were seeing the start of a trend for EA. However with it being the first instance it was too early to say for sure. Tour is a brand new game looking to gain traction and potentially build into a new franchise. It was something to keep an eye on though with future EA Sports releases. The positive news continues as i...
