The viability of developing a full sequel to Backbreaker took a devastating hit due to terrible reviews and low sales. Despite that the brand's mobile apps have been immensely popular and well received. Both the original Backbreaker and Backbreaker 2: Vengeance have collected several million in revenues. Based on a new screenshot for an upcoming game released today by developer NaturalMotion it appears they may be bringing the "Tackle Alley" package to the Xbox 360 and PS3. The image show...

A trailer teasing the reveal of new game announcements that will be made at the 2010 Video Game Awards show includes a brief glance of an NFL football game. That hints at an NFL licensed product being unveiled at the show which takes place on the evening of Saturday December 11th. With the recent rumor leaking that EA Sports is planning to revive NFL Blitz that would likely be the best bet as to what is coming but it isn't a certainty. The video flashes by so quickly that it is just a few f...

It was only a few days ago that EA Sports released their first version of NBA Jam and now comes a rumor that the company may be resurrecting the NFL Blitz franchise. Giant Bomb has posted up their belief that a game is in the works at Tiburon with a release coming likely in 2012. The belief is that EA purchased rights to multiple franchises and NBA Jam was just the only one made public initially. This is somewhat interesting because it remains unclear from where the rights to NBA Jam were a...

Madden NFL Superstars launched earlier this week on Facebook. The free-to-play management sim is supported by microtransactions and follows a similarly structured FIFA Superstars that arrived earlier this summer to big success. After spending a few days with Madden Superstars my full thoughts on it follow, though as is the case with a game of this nature I can only report on the experience so far as there is no reachable end game. My impressions are based on not having spent any money on th...

Earlier today EA Sports launched Madden NFL Superstars, a free-to-play but microtransaction supported Facebook team management sim game. This offering had been talked about since the beginning of the year, prior to FIFA Superstars arriving to big success, and was discovered to be in beta just a couple weeks ago. Click here to access the app on Facebook! At first glance Madden NFL Superstars seems to have borrowed some of its properties from the Ultimate Team mode and the generic team logos ...

The latest player to be added to the browser based management sim QuickHit Football is Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware. QuickHit announced the acquisition of the NFL license for branding such as team names, logos, uniforms, field art, stadiums, and other league branding back in June. However they are still restricted to having five players that are currently active in the league given they don't have a deal with the NFLPA. Randy Moss was the first one announced for the upcoming season....
