    Today EA Sports put to rest a long-running rumor by officially announcing that a remake of NFL Blitz is in development for the Xbox 360 and PS3 with plans to release in January. It will round out the three mystery titles that had been kept under wraps for the January through March fiscal quarter (the other two being Grand Slam Tennis 2 and FIFA Street).     The digital download-only Backbreaker: Vengeance has arrived on XBLA. Vengeance is comprised of a set of mini-games based off the popular 'Tackle Alley' that was introduced on iOS platforms and in the retail version of Backbreaker.     Carefully omitted from the announcement of next week's release of Backbreaker: Vengeance on XBLA was the price. NaturalMotion has now followed up by stating that the game will go for 1200 MS points which is the equivalent of $15. That might be asking a bit much considering a comparable experience on iOS can be had for 99 cents and the full retail version of Backbreaker (which includes a 'Tackle Alley' mode) now goes for less even brand new.     Today NaturalMotion announced that Backbreaker: Vengeance is set to release Wednesday June 29th on Xbox Live Arcade. A timed exclusive for the Xbox 360 it will follow for the PS3 sometime this summer. Despite the release news and being only a week away the company did not reveal the price.     Majesco has made news on two fronts today. The first is that the company has signed an agreement with the NBA to produce an original arcade-style franchise. Few details about the game are known other than it will be motion-control based and release in spring 2012. In addition Majesco has purchased QUICKHIT NFL Football.     NaturalMotion has been busy this week introducing Backbreaker: Vengeance. Originally teased with the single screenshot, the game has been confirmed to be coming this summer exclusively to Xbox Live Arcade. Not a true sequel to last year's Backbreaker instead it's based on the popular iPhone app of the same name that introduced obstacles into the "Tackle Alley" mini-game.     Three new potential franchises are in development at EA Sports, though the company has chosen not to reveal what they are just yet. The news was made at a press event being held in San Francisco where the company is showing off some of their upcoming titles including Madden 12, NCAA Football 12, and SSX. One of the three is said to be a football game that is "fundamentally different" than those sim titles. This could very well be the remake of NFL Blitz that was rumored late last year. ...
