The MLB season is set to begin just over a week from now and Sony San Diego has laid out expectations for how it will or won't be replicated in MLB The Show 20. This season will consist of 60 games with 40 of them coming against division opponents and the other 20 taking on teams from the same regional division in the other league. The universal designated hitter has been put into place and extra innings will see a runner start on second base. Of course there no fans will be in attendance...

2K Sports revealed the three different cover athletes for NBA 2K21 this week (Damian Lillard, Zion Williamson, Kobe Bryant) but the more interesting news relates to details on the series' transition to the next-gen systems. NBA 2K21 on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will see a price increase to $70. That's the first indication that games across the board may be more expensive next-gen. It would seem unlikely that NBA 2K would be on its own in doing so. Additionally those who buy t...

Last week when EA Sports let it be known that a developer blog would be releasing for Face of the Franchise along with Franchise Mode being referred to as 'Classic Franchise' it was obvious the outlook on the latter was bleak. That justified pessimism was confirmed today as FOTF has received the bulk of the attention in Madden NFL 21 with Franchise barely getting what could even be considered a patch-caliber update. EA renamed Madden NFL 21's Franchise to "Classic Franchise"...

Early last week EA Sports unveiled the primary new features for Madden NFL 21. That news came prior to the next-gen PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X debut trailer and info on hardware-related enhancements but the basic game details will be essentially the same regardless of which system or generation it is to be played on. It was an underwhelming if not disappointing initial reveal of things that have all seemingly been promoted for past Madden titles. Now the publisher has rolled out what is ...

Electronic Arts held the annual EA Play event earlier today and did so remotely with a pre-taped production. As expected upcoming sports games premiered first looks accompanied by additional details including release news. It is notable however that there was just a single trailer shown during the presentation and only featured two of the four upcoming titles. Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21 had the premiere of a next-gen trailer with a glimpse at the games for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. ...
