WWE 2K14 Cover Goes to The Rock
The lead-up to Wrestlemania is always the biggest time of the year in terms of consumer interest and interaction for WWE. With Wrestlemania 29 on Sunday the company even made video game news with still over seven months until the typical release time frame for the series arrives.

WWE on Board with Take Two for Five Years; 2K14 Developed by Yukes For Fall Release
Last week brought confirmation of the WWE license moving to Take Two and some of the details behind how the deal came together. As reported here last month and from multiple other sources the WWE license has been obtained by Take Two the parent company of 2K Sports. The question since turned to how the series would be handled moving forward given that the development studio, Yukes, would not be part of that transaction. Take Two May Have Obtained WWE License
Take Two, parent company of 2K Sports, may have acquired the WWE license that had entered a free agency period due to the THQ bankruptcy proceedings. Initial rumors were that EA Sports was the company that came to an agreement with WWE but follow-up information I received indicated that it was more likely to be Take Two. THQ Bankruptcy Means WWE License Will Likely Soon Need a New Home
Earlier today THQ declared bankruptcy and the intention to sell off assets to Clearlake Capital Group representing the latest development in what is the gradual demise of the company.
