EA Sports has been largely quiet in regards to NBA Live 15. The game skipped E3 and outside of some examples of enhanced visuals the campaign to promote the new game seems to be more about apologizing for the last one. Yesterday Game Informer posted an article noting some of the ways the company hopes to improve with Live 15. What's evident is how gameplay is the priority though it was said to be last year as well. Certainly that needs to make a dramatic jump for Live to even be a consid...

The decision has finally been made - LeBron James is going back to the Cleveland Cavaliers. James spent four years in Miami after crushing Cleveland's spirit, getting to the NBA Finals every year and winning two championships. The details of the contract with the Cavs are still unknown. This single signing will have a monumental affect on the balance of power not just in the NBA but in the video games as well. The Cavs will go from being one of the least used teams to likely the most used...

EA Sports today released a new developer blog and video detailing enhancements to graphics that have been made for NBA Live 15. Prior to E3 the company released the first image which showcased six player faces that had been dramatically improved due to the head scanning process. Areas that have received significant work besides the player likenesses include arena lighting, jerseys, shot clock, shoes, and LED boards. The poor visuals were far from the only thing wrong with NBA Live 14...

The poor visuals particularly for a title that was built for the next-gen consoles, with players that often looked nothing like themselves, were a barrier of entry for many when it came to NBA Live 14. It was tough enough to justify buying Live over 2K14 considering everything else but when the graphics couldn't even compare that made the decision that much easier for consumers. Rather than talk about NBA Live 15 at E3 today - no matter what claims were made they would have been dismisse...

A huge patch three months in the making arrived for NBA Live 14 earlier this week. While it had almost no chance of turning a sub-par game into a good one the message being sent with it was made clear - EA Sports is not giving up on the series. Praise however should be tempered as the work done to produce the update has not been an act of charity but rather necessity. Live 14 has improved in a number of areas now, some fairly significantly, but in general still falls short of reasonable c...

While there may not be many consumers playing NBA Live 14 it has been important for EA Sports to follow through not just on post-release promises but delivering a competent and enjoyable product to market. Those who gave the game a chance may not be so forgiving this fall when Live 15 arrives. It's not just the goodwill of improving the game but demonstrating that the company recognizes its faults and may be in a position to rectify them while excelling in other areas in the coming years. ...
